Ballarat Vintage & Classic Car Club Comes to Como Gardens

The Ballarat Vintage & Classic Car Club have put together a visit to Como Gardens (George & Pat Hetrel’s property) and George has kindly agreed to inviting The Early Ford V8 Club to join them on the day. VCCC members will be travelling from Ballarat by bus, arriving at Como Gardens (Melway Map 65-K-8) at approx 11:00am. It is suggested the EFV8 Club meet at Wheelers Hill Hotel car park, Ferntree Gully Road corner Jells Road (Melway Map 71-J-9) from about 10:15am and move out about 10:40am and drive to George’s. George will have the urn on but suggest BYO lunch, chairs etc. Weather permitting, he will have the train running around the gardens and we are all free to wander the magnificent gardens and then of course he will open the museum and no doubt start up a number of the cars for us. It would be a terrific opportunity for members to bring along visitors, children and grandchildren. The trains and the journey around the property is amazing and exciting for all ages, especially the kids! Contact Daryl Crawley on 5335 7817 or ring Peter Hibbert on 9800 1222 to register your attendance.

Picnic with the Classics will be held on the Museum Plaza adjacent to the Exhibition Buildings. Clubs are invited to display at this event on Saturday or Sunday. The entry form can be downloaded from the Motor Classica website www.motorclassica.com.au. If you are a member of the RACV you will receive a discount on admission to this event.
